A calm space to enjoy with nature 🍃
Swipe to see the garden as it is now >
My clients have recently moved into their home and as part of some work to the house internally they wanted to maximise the use and appearance of their garden ✨ The proposal looks to create semi wild planted areas which will soften the boundaries. A dining space and a second smaller seating place to enjoy a coffee in the morning sun are positioned close to the house while a gravel garden provides more flexible seating around a reclaimed water feature, surrounded by planting.

Yesterday marked the start of the garden build for The Avenue with the 3 feathered Pyrus calleryana ‘Chanticleer’ being planted. Setting out has started for the pool and I am finalising material specifications with the client.
Thank you to @chris_hughes_gardens for planting the three trees - no doubt these trees will have had the best start and always so satisfying visiting after Chris has been - always so neat and tidy!!

Enjoying Pitville Park on a very hot day, looking forward to some cooler weather and fingers crossed for rain with lots of planting coming up! 🌺
What an incredible first @the_rhs Chelsea experience! Thank you to Ollie of @pikestudio.landscape for asking me to help with the final days, it was truly an honour to play a small part in your wonderful @whittardofchelsea1886 Container Garden!
I came away inspired, not just by the incredible designs but also by the incredible people that came together to build Ollie’s vision. It was a heart warming experience to be part of such a passionate team of people/ designers/ makers / specialists - friends!!
And… Congratulations Ollie on your GOLD medal! Thoroughly deserved, a beautiful garden with so much care and attention to detail. I can’t wait to see your future Show gardens and look forward to (hopefully) helping again in the future!!!

The Garden House is an exciting new project with so much potential 💫
Set around a beautiful Georgian house, the garden is currently a blank canvas — a dream opportunity for any garden designer.
The Garden Design Document introduces two emerging concept designs, both designed to place the house at the heart of the landscape.
The proposals include a generous central lawn framed by large, naturalistic planting borders, alongside an enhanced arrival experience, a south-facing terrace, a kitchen garden, children’s play areas - even a putting green.
The design will continue to evolve through client feedback, with 3D visuals to follow. I can’t wait to bring this garden to life.

A recently completed initial Garden Design Document for Horseferry Bridge Farm. This document hopes to provide the client with a concept design for their garden to help inspire and encourage a more detailed design brief.
The design: The proposed sketch design for Horseferry Bridge Farm aims to deliver a
landscape layout that enhances the setting of the dwelling and its proposed alterations, while effectively screening views of the adjacent road and yard.
The scheme includes a modest widening of the entrance to improve access, alongside new tree and hedgerow planting to provide additional screening from the road. The house is framed by soft planting and a low wall, with two centrally positioned steps offering direct access to the front door.
Low walls are proposed on either side of
the house, enclosing the kitchen garden and courtyard. These elements also establish a clear and secure boundary, enhancing privacy between the front and rear of the property.
The rear garden has been designed to maximise connectivity with the house, supporting a strong indoor–outdoor relationship. Step-free access is
maintained throughout, with a generous terrace extending to a lawn, a water feature, and views across the adjoining fields.
The water feature is designed to reflect the character of a small stream, running along the field boundary. Water is introduced via a low stone wall to the north of the garden, where a secondary seating area is set within a planted enclosure of shrubs and small multi-stem trees, creating a private space to enjoy the evening sun.
